Oya Christie-Miller

Oya is an educational consultant who has been helping high school students from around the globe get into undergraduate programmes where they can thrive and be challenged. Oya loves helping students discover and build upon their strengths in preparation for university. Oya works on a mentorship model to help to develop and deepen students’ academic interests and critical thinking skills, and to encourage their extracurricular interests and leadership capabilities.

Oya has a BA from Yale University, an MA from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, and undertook graduate work at UC Berkeley. Having received pedagogy training and taught four semesters of the required Reading and Composition course to undergraduates at UC Berkeley, she especially enjoys helping her students develop as writers.

Every year, Oya undertakes pro-bono work with students from underrepresented backgrounds and refugees. Oya also has a special interest in neurodiverse students. She has volunteered as a social skills trainer at an autism charity, and has also helped run a summer camp for autistic teenagers at a state school.
